Nellie Gardner joins the IPGF as Resident Garden Authority

IPGF is pleased to announce that Nellie Gardner has joined our team of professionals as our Resident Garden Authority. Nellie is a graduate of Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Science. She is owner and manager of Flower Fields, a reestablished cut flower farm in Spencerport, NY. As a Professional Agricultural Consultant, Nellie consults in speciality garden design including wildflower gardens, perennial, annual and cut flower, educational gardens and children's gardens.

Her expertise includes retail and wholesale flower shop, green house management, landscape design, botanical harvest gardening, rock garden and cutting garden. She is a bi-monthly contributor to the Channel 8 Sunrise Morning show in Rochester, NY.

Nellie is a member of the American Public Garden Association and the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers. She is the recipient of Genesee County Soil and Water Conservation Award & Dept. of Agriculture and Markets Award for IPM. She is the past president of the Genesee County Farm Bureau.

Nellie completely renovated Flower Fields. The house, grounds and barn once used as a flower shop is the compound where she now resides. Nellie developed her love of agriculture while growing up on an old fashioned farm on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. She has a passion for the nature and beauty that surrounds her. We are very fortunate to have her join the IPGF team of experts.
